E MULE

E mule is a peer to peer file sharing software that was created in May 2002.

Hendrik Beitzkreuz, started this new type of file sharing because he was dissatisfied with the old edonkey2000¹ . After a time , people joined this effort and thanks to it , it was published on source forge on July 6 , 2002.

Since then e mule has been downloaded for more than 420 million times , making it , by far , the most downloaded project of SourceForge² .

People have been using e mule for years , but like every software it had some problems.

In the new versions made, a “ bad source list” was added , making the IP adress appear like “dead” and not letting people connect to emule for a long while.

Other problem was the ability to create an account of emule with un limited priviledges and int elligent corruption handling.

The new version of emule “0.46” added the creation and management of “ emule collection” files , which helped to protect the files that they wanted to download.

However , emule is now consider ed a stable product ; the new versions are very controled , so their creation is very rare. The latest version is “emule 0.49” of February 2009.

Emule is a file searcher that lots of people used , are using and thatstill will use , because it helps to find music , films , pictures and anything that we need , in a fast and very comfortable . It is a very good invention that facilitates are research in internet.
