DEFINITION

Tuenti.com was created in january of 2006 by Zaryn Dentzel an American Exchange student that came from his country to Cabeza del Buey,Badajoz,Spain; right now he lives in Madrid. Tuenti.com is focused on the youth Spanish youth people, specially to the university students and high school students

THE TEAM

The developer team of Tuenti.com was choosen through a casting between programmers of Poland,Spain, United States of America and The United Kingdom, some of the were users of Tuenti.com.

CHARACTERISTICS

As the rest of the actual international social networks such as Facebook.com, Myspace.com and Netlog.com, is based on the creation of profiles that besides of including the name, the age, and relationship status , as examples, of the user also includes the tastes of the propietary of the profile.

The design of Tuenti is really minimalist and logical, making it simple to understand and use for every user, been accesible to the users with less knowledge in the use of informatic resources and Internet.

Tuenti.com also use events, promoted by the Web or created by the users, that are used to planifícate or promote different things, Tuenti.com also let the user to upload images and videos, from Youtube.com. Every user have a "tablón" in its profile in which the rest of user can post comments and a miniblog that can be used for uploading images and videos that can be seen directly from the profile. Tuenti.com have an internal chat system used to communicate between users. And as the rest of actual social networks it includes an search system that helps the user to find people the want to add or talk to.

CRITICS

The impossibilty of implementing applications in Tuenti.com has been criticied by some users, specially the ones that are user of Facebook.com, social network that already have a system to develop and use applications directly from the Website.

Its estimated that Tuenti.com has nearly 6,000,000 users; Tuenti.com protect itself from "fake profiles" using a invitation system for registering, so every new user must be invited by an old one, and this user have a total of 10 invitation to use.
