Internet

THE INTERNT

Internet is one of the bests examples of humans development. It can be defined as a global network that allows the connection of  millions of computers all around the world using TCP/IP, which stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, a set of standards for transmitting and receiving digital data.. Even more precisely we can say that nowadays, more than 100 countries are linked into exchanges of data, news and opinions. Unlike online services, which are centrally controlled, the Internet is decentralized by design. In fact, each Internet computer, called a host, is independent.

Moreover, there are many internet services available, and each  operator can choose  which one to use and which localservices to make available to the global Internet community. On the other hand, this anarchy by design works exceedingly well.

There are a variety of ways to access the Internet. Most online services, such as America Online, offer access to some Internet services. It is also possible to gain access through a commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP).

The Internet consists primarily of the collection of billions of interconnected webpages that are transferred using HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), and are collectively known as the World Wide Web. The Internet also uses FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to transfer files, and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) to transfer e-mail.

Example: Google is a research software, which that offers and manages web-scale database. It allows its users move around many webpages.

One of its competitors could be Yahoo.
